William Shakespeare's

Task 2* - Seeming vs. Being

Sometimes in our lives the world seems nothing but a fake! The super models in the magazines - they are so beautiful by nature, aren't they? On TV they promise that the brand new toothpaste will make my teeth even whiter. If they promise it, they will be right, won't they? My new best friend asks me for money, CDs and clothes constantly. She really likes my style. I haven't got my stuff back by now, but I'm sure she's just a little bit forgetful, isn't she?
In reality the model from the cover of the magazine only looks so good because the photographer has got a very good photoshop. Click here to see an example of hoe it works. The toothpaste only helps to have white teeth if I use it regularly. I don't have to pay more for a certain one just because George Clooney advertises for it. And my new "best" friend knows exactly how to exploit somebody in order to get what she wants and never return it.

Look at these pistures. Describe what you see and why they are confusing or even impossible. In our lifes we are often confronted with optical illusions. Talk with your group about situations that turned out to be not the way you expected them. Write down your own experience as if it was an entry in your diary. Explain  why it was confusing and what you have learned from the situation. Add it to your folder.
